Q1: Was Marlon Wayans ever cast in Norbit?
A1: No. Marlon Wayans was never cast, hired, or officially attached to Norbit in any capacity. Eddie Murphy played the central multiple roles himself, including Norbit, Rasputia, and Mr. Wong.
Q2: Did Marlon Wayans audition for any role in the movie?
A2: No. The script was written by Eddie Murphy, Charlie Murphy, Jay Scherick, and David Ronn specifically for Eddie Murphy as a multi-character tour de force. The production did not hold auditions for the lead roles.
Q3: Did Marlon Wayans try to pitch a Rasputia spin-off?
A3: No. DreamWorks Pictures owns the rights to Norbit and all associated characters. Marlon Wayans has focused his development efforts on original concepts and discussions surrounding a potential sequel to his own 2004 hit, White Chicks.
Q4: Why do so many fans believe Marlon Wayans was involved in Norbit?
A4: The misconception stems from the mid-2000s prosthetic comedy boom. The Wayans brothers released White Chicks in 2004 and Little Man in 2006, while Murphy released Norbit in 2007. Viral video compilations often merge these works together, leading casual viewers to confuse the creators.
